Questions & Answers
What is the background / history of the franchise?
Stemtree Education Center opened in 2014 as an after-school STEM-focused learning enrichment program for children in grades K-12. In 2016, Dr. Abdelghani “Bell” Bellaachia began franchising Stemtree, and it has since grown into a successful franchise with multiple locations across the United States. While most STEM centers may provide students with activities, a Stemtree education goes deeper and broader. Each component of our curriculum covers the theory behind the given topic, creating a solid foundation of understanding upon which to build. The result of our specially-designed curriculum is a long-lasting education, rooted in the fundamentals of science, technology, and engineering.
What is the business model?
Stemtree is a before and after school program which provides children with personalized and self-paced science and engineering learning plans. We also offer our students year-round camps that take place on days when school is not in session, birthday parties, and tutoring. While a brick and mortar location is required for these programs, franchisees are able to expand their operations by holding before and after school programs and camps at local schools and recreation centers.
Who is an ideal franchisee candidate?
The qualities we look for in potential franchise owners include: strong sales and client service abilities, good with timing and schedule management, high personal standards, able to meet initial investment requirements, strong sense of integrity in corporate and client relationships, and a willingness and commitment to excellent service. We also look for candidates that like to make a difference in their communities and inspire kids.
The minimum amount required for a franchisee to invest is $69,800, and can go all the way up to $149,800.
How many StemTree units are in the United States?
There are 14 StemTree locations in the United States, of which 1 are corporate units and 13 are franchise units.

The StemTree franchise model offers education services that focus on the core curricula of science, technology, and engineering. StemTree’s programs nurture each student's inner scientist through innovative, engaging, and hands-on learning experience, built upon a solid foundation of scientific curricula, giving each student the edge for success in today’s schools and the world. Whether achieving higher grades in the classroom, helping students become successful science professionals or engineers, or simply instilling and cultivating an appreciation and a deep understanding of science and technology, StemTree offers after-school programs, with or without student pick-ups, one-on-one tutoring, educational camps, home-school study programs, and even birthday parties and event-based programs. StemTree’s business model requires a fixed commercial location comprising approximately 1,500 to 2,500 square feet of space.
