Operating activities are the core activities of a business. These activities are related to providing goods and/or services to the market of their industry. They can be either an income or expense from manufacturing, distributing, marketing, and selling a product or service. They will generally provide most of a company’s cash flow and determine whether it will be profitable. Some common operating activities are sales, payments to employees, taxes, and payments to suppliers. These activities are on the company’s financial statements, particularly in the income statement and cash flow statement.
